rats are largely typical college-educated academics, post-rats have usually been rejected by rats and are consequently more open to spirituality and 'conservative' values like 'religion'

totally valid! the part abt rejection is for sure the detail I knew was most shaky, I tagged it on anyway haha like ppl wouldn't 'move on' from ratty academia if they felt fully accepted? maybe not direct rejection, but dissatisfaction/frustration over unfulfilled meaning
