fraud is part of the electoral system and thats fine elections are designed by states with locally-chosen representatives who follow local norms about how much tomfoolery to allow in that communities elections that is, local fraud and disenfranchisement are robust federalism

imagine you want to steal an election generally this will be harder to do if you need to coopt many systems controlled by separate entities than a single centralized system fewer necessary points of failure like imagine a national system controlled or influenced by eg Trump

Possibly, but only guaranteed so long as the centralization isn't accompanied by an increase in security. It seems very likely to me that one could design an incorruptible voting system. ...or isn't there a math proof that shows the very opposite is true?
