That suggests we need ritual that disappears them into their sacerdotal role, not rules that make their personalities more salient. Life appointments favor the latter.

Make them live in the supreme court building and shun all other human contact for the duration of their term. They can leave written instructions for clerks, but can't actually be in the same room as them. Clerks also bring them food, wash their clothes, etc. Priestly hierarchy.

More practically, there should be entirely separate judiciaries for (1) civil law, (2) criminal law, (3) constitutional law (procedural), (4) constitutional law: the Bill of Rights and other extraordinary cases against the US Government.
