yeah, but the PM in parliamentary systems isn't directly elected. Maybe the UK should use another voting system, but the US system makes less sense

true! There doesn't seem a good reason for that, though. In parliamentary systems, the fact that it's MPs who are elected makes things like leadership changes without elections possible

sure there's a reason! small states didn't want to be dominated wholesale by larger states and geographical minority protections were baked in throughout the Constitution

oh yeah, that's right, I had learnt this point but forgot it. Listen to Godowsky! So yeah, really the main function was that before telecommunications, it made sense to have electors designated to elect the president, but now that's not needed
