wonder if a major thing democrats will be paying for for some time is the extent to which in their efforts to deligitimize trump they have mostly succeeded in deligitimizing the small-c constitution of the government

that is one plausible outcome although if trump loses i dont see a strong biden presidency and the actions they could take to prevent another trump-like win with any confidence would probably just hurry along collapse

Recalling when T was talking to reporters, early in his tenure, and he was asked why he was citing unemployment figures, since he said they were fake before he was elected. He replied something like "they're real now" and smiled wryly

One thing I wonder about is how the press makes the transition. e.g. They been pressured into editorializing about Trump's statements ("said without evidence"). Biden's a politician, eventually he's going to say something without evidence. I'm interested in how that will go.

The Presidency is a more durable institution containing its own democratic mandate and inherent powers. The Supreme Court has no power source other than procedural legitimacy
