risk in this case would be purges and aggressive guardrails put in place by successor administration, beyond limits to executive power and more in reshaping information and legal infrastructure to prevent similar challenges in the future

past few weeks are moves that were possible to execute with simple social pressure, you may imagine what becomes possible with two branches of government

do you think a president romney would inspire such ire? or do you consider him establishment too? do you think said forces might be less present/cohesive in other parts of the country/off (social) media? might cohesion be easier for a media campaign vs actual policy-making?

complicated, yes, complicated, complicated

I'd been more-or-less neutral on Biden before this campaign. (I voted for neither DJT nor HRC in 2016.) I dislike many things about DJT, but the way the prestige media and Big Tech have gone all-in for Biden just deeply worries me.

In October 2016, they warned us we shouldn't consider a person who doesn't respect democracy and won't respect the will of the voters (they meant Trump) nor a xenophobe who sees foreigners as enemies (they meant Trump), then became conspiracists and Russo-phobes.

Establishment forces on both sides weren't enough to keep Trump out. If you like anything resembling bland status-quo centrism and the continuation of neolib politics as usual until something bigger breaks, I don't think you have much to worry about from the Dems.
-
that would be the least bad outcome from a Biden presidency and still bad in many ways but i can imagine much worse from a leftist perspective in the potential case mentioned below the left is also btfo'd
