Our kids attend public schools, but cannot participate in sports, clubs, dances b/c we won't consent to random drug testing. [We and they do not use illicit drugs.] We work hard to provide them with alternatives. E.g., middle daughter competes at nat'l level in rock climbing.

In a ridiculously bad SCOTUS ruling (Board of Education v. Earls), they held that drugs are bad so we don't need no 4th amendment. I imagine similar reasoning being applied by the new, larger SCOTUS to ban documentaries critical of Dem candidates and using non-preferred pronouns.

Yes. Public school kids only have partial 4th Am rights. They can't expel your kid if you refuse consent for random drug tests, but they can exclude them from dances, clubs (even those meeting during school hours), and sports. I think that part is written on the back of the Const
