this was an interesting line of thought yesterday its strictly true but also not in a broader sense ie i dont see any positive discussion of family outside of trad discourse very easy for left or center to present an alternative vision in theory no? https://twitter.com/default_friend/status/1320606998770053123 …

no, it only exists in schools of some sort, mostly the sorting kind, which isn't very kind, it isn't

unless you're having your kid homeschool 30 hours a week with a pod of 15-30 other homeschoolers, I'm not sure it reaches a critical mass Idk, obv there are many paths to enlightenment, but learning with a cohort generally seems to work if the school is good

Our kids attend public schools, but cannot participate in sports, clubs, dances b/c we won't consent to random drug testing. [We and they do not use illicit drugs.] We work hard to provide them with alternatives. E.g., middle daughter competes at nat'l level in rock climbing.

In a ridiculously bad SCOTUS ruling (Board of Education v. Earls), they held that drugs are bad so we don't need no 4th amendment. I imagine similar reasoning being applied by the new, larger SCOTUS to ban documentaries critical of Dem candidates and using non-preferred pronouns.

Not only does society exist outside schools, it's probably more accurate to say society does not exist in schools. If socialization is a concern, better to keep kids away from school entirely
