if we *donate* the cord blood will the hospital make that easy for us or do I have to do a bunch of shit to make that happen when I give birth

I was still trying to figure out if there's any reason not to put off private banking until future kids if/when the potential upside becomes larger since iirc the only common and current applications are for some rare conditions and can't even use the baby's own blood

I doubt it makes a big difference for a full term baby? That said, I reject normalizing denying my newborn 30% of its blood supply and therefore refuse to call it “delayed cord clamping”.
