sorry if this is dickish - but nearly every midlife person seems very lame and the worst of them all are the ones who dont accept this. im not depressed just what exactly is the point

Life (relationships and emotions) become less intense in a lot of ways. Although I don't think that's neccesrily bad. You can't live constantly at the level of emotional intensity of your late teens early 20s.

emotional intensity hasn't decreased for me, it's simply changed less like cocaine or shots, more like thc or wine sublime the quality of waiting for a daughter to arrive is somewhat analagous to a first kiss--wonder, anticipation--but hits more smoothly
