i am once again asking commercial vendors to stop lying to me about the nature and quality of fabrics and leather they use in there ware's it makes it REALLY TIRESOME to shop

general rule of thumb btw is that if something is good leather the manufacturer will explicitly state that it is full grain, or bridle, or top grain

This isn't quite right. "Genuine leather" can refer to literally anything that's made mostly from leather. Bonded leather and full grain leather are both "genuine". Top grain leather is better than full grain leather of the same thickness for most purposes.

Bonded leather has its place but it's definitely not where anyone can see it or touch it. High quality boots and shoes frequently use leatherboard, a type of bonded leather, for the structural part of the insole.
