Agree w/ the self-assurance and low reactivity, except I wouldn’t have chosen “quiet” really?

there is a certain I think an important skill for either (any?) flavor of charisma is not pushing yourself into someone else's social space, but rather inviting them into yours . . . I think anyway, I think one can do that quietly, or at a high volume hm

yeah i think that's exactly it! i'm having trouble understanding the high volume version now despite it being the more obvious type of charisma. maybe bc i feel like i've been finding a lot of people quietly charismatic lately and it's been surprising?

since
@__justplaying called it, the people whose video/audio chat interactions have smacked me over the head with “quiet charisma“ vibes lately in weirdly similar ways:@eigenrobot@MMMalign@TameranVacilio2 replies 0 retweets 17 likes -

I mostly just want everyone to get along and feel good about themselves, its easy to vibe this when your own social needs are basically met I think :)

that makes sense!! i dont think i've heard "having social needs met" as a concept before
outside of like "interacting with people frequently enough" which is necessary but not sufficient1 reply 0 retweets 12 likes -

oh yeah its super important like most things i never consciously think about it but people come into conversations to meet basic social needs safety, assurance, validation, shared joy, coalitional support, all sorts of stuff

any easy ("easy") way to be charming is just pay attention to what people are asking for from a given interaction, they usually broadcast this, then help making the conversation about giving it to them

the next level sometimes is giving it to them and then showing them that they didnt really need to ask in the first place and that they can just rest assured that they have whatever thing reliably
