the question is if we, and the taiwanese, can sink ships full of supplies faster than they can get them across the strait, and the bad news is the strait is not that wide and it doesn't take very long to get across it.

seems like either it galvanizes a massive defensive response by TW/US/other that makes taking TW proper impossible, or it knocks down TW internally --> gg probably? idk I'm not sure of the tactical implications of those islands changing hands wrt an amphibious assault
