Its definitely way too wordy but the central thrust is on point - the system has myriad ways to drain energy and neutralize any threat posed from within (elections) so that energy must go to building something from without instead

I'm pretty sure that's not the point he is trying to make. You should bear in mind that these are not standalone essays, but rather is the 3rd chapter of his attempt to create 'a mirror for nihilist princes'

It would therefore make sense that he will spend a lot of time making airtight definitions and steel-manning stuff that the NRx sphere already knows. Since the book is going to be a manual for the guy who wants to actually take charge and emerge out of the mess that we have.

Yeah I doubt this is news. I read first chapter and I hate his prose. Will I read in this work that our continent scale institutions are still village scale in design and operational reality? Maybe I should also start writing again fml
