a lot of what we seem to agonize over, as well, is how to avoid dying of brain worms thinking Clearly about information systems seems necessarily subjective(??), and doing this well is difficult in an environment rife with hostile self-aware entitieshttps://twitter.com/eigenrobot/status/967114911401652225?s=19 …

My metatheory is that epistemology should be looked at from a computability perspective (science is decidability of counter-example etc.) If you are interested :https://arxiv.org/abs/2001.10800

Hmmm This seems rigorous (reading the abstract) but is it practical or implementable at scale? I'm concerned about transmission issues, and bounded rationality perhaps (And thank you regardless

The notion of categories is misleading. The alopecia paradox is not a party joke, it shows a systemic error of thinking. If there ever will be a different epistemology, it'll be folds to displace categories, allowing for so needed smoothness.

There are two serious possibilies. 1. IQ is god. There is a strict hierarchy and if you don't have enough IQ you can't do a truth pegged to that IQ.
-
2. There's a jock-like training regimen which can be used to hone your intellectual strength and grace. Which is this: http://alrenous.blogspot.com/2019/06/how-to-epistemic-competence.html … Knowledge isn't nice. Either we're all fucked or anyone not doing the work is LARPing.
