I haven't told anyone in my family or above-board social groups that I have firearms wouldn't recommend they strap up either, unless things got much worse and I were worried about their safety much more immediately because they would have an absolute wig seshhttps://twitter.com/eigenrobot/status/1303784785395867648 …

There was an NPR interview a few years back about a Coffee and Guns store in a local (very lib middle upper class urban) area, none of the clients would give their full name. I feel like we've shifted a bit from there?

I just figured robots didn't have human names. But in general I'd be interested in see how "would you own a gun" has changed over the past few years by class

The needle has definitely moved for me (upper-middle, I guess). 10 years ago, I would have said owning a gun was pure nonsense, just inviting danger into your home with no tangible benefit. I'm far from ready to buy a gun myself, but I *definitely* want to learn to use one soon

I don't expect to find myself in a situation where I need one wrt social instability, for context main issue with buying and stocking up now is that when it is obvious that I'd need it training and capital goods would be very hard to come by
