Insurrections seem less a matter of principle and more a matter of politics. Do I support the aims of the insurrection? Is it likely to succeed in its aims? Are the costs of the insurrection worth the benefits, in expectation? These may and must be evaluated casewise (good).

What are the weak points of this taxonomy? I think I like it and it solves a lot of motte/bailey issues in rhetoric that maybe have been dominating lately, and while there are some issues around bright dividing lines I think in practice they're relatively minor.

Isn't the point of an insurrection to upend the chess board on the subject of validity and the gatekeepers thereof? With a hat tip to James Clavell, there is no justification for insurrection except victory, which is an absolute justification.
