they can ban "extended magazines", but they cant make them not exist. I also have a 22. Caliber plinker that technically falls under the assault weapon ban because the ban is a checklist and it technically fulfills the requirement due to a flash suppressor and collapsible stock

"Clinton clips" is still a popular term here for referring to clip size limitations. Orange County is it's own peculiar case separate from California politics. Very much the rich (fiscally) conservative cradle in California.
