On the other hand, if you expect supply chain disruption, consider buying some baby formula just in case. If you don't need it, you can always resell it or donate it to charities, etc. (Unless it's opened.)

Also - don't be mad at me for this please - maybe think about your recreational substance policy. We don't use any besides occassional wine / beer. Our home policy is that an adult who can safely drive a car must be present at all times.

Just remembered: car safety seats have crash-test ratings. Maybe look at them if you have time. We didn't research it too deeply, we bought at a place which I think has very high standards and we mostly deferred to their judgment. Also our friends chose v similar model.

I am planning to be psychotic about this We bought a car in Jan and I made sure it had a bunch of safety hookups for carseats, honestly safety ratings for the car generally were a major consideration (ended up with a new model Civic)

I think I forgot my go-to piece of advice: before the baby is born stock up some frozen / otherwise quick to make meals. Do the laundry, do anything to free up as much time as us possible after the baby is born. The more slack in the first weeks the better. Frozen meals rock.

I remembered one more thing: probably you will use some is possible diapers. If you think there may be availability problems, stock up on them. (I bought a lot in February. Now we are potty training so hopefully won't need as much soon.)https://twitter.com/Alex_Danco/status/1233426414558310400?s=19 …

If you want to use cloth diapers then I think you must have a washing machine at home. Otherwise ... too hard.
