I don't know about greatest technology. They haven't started using plastic explosives or put bombs on airplanes or busses yet. But the current alliance of convenience is going to be tested -- Big Biz wants to defeat Trump to rollback his China policy so the $$ can keep flowing.

But at some point, this alliance between billionaires and antifa is going to end. Then we'll see what happens.

That's true. We were better able to weather the 1970s violence. Now, the professional classes really do want to see ordinary americans get murdered. It's pretty shocking how they cheer the violence against middle america, even if the level of violence is fairly mild.

Just by demographics we are more divided. The left has become an anti-white coalition, led by white professional classes who really want to see the white working class destroyed. That is a much bigger appeal to racial hatreds than diehard socialists/communists like in the 70s.

It's easy to forget all about socialism once you make some money or buy a house. So the 1970s just fizzled out. But racial hatred is something that does not diminish as you buy a house or climb the corporate ladder. It's much more sticky as a motivation for leftwing violence.

And as America solidifies into a multi-racial state, it's prone to descending into very long lived race wars. It's almost impossible to find an example of a nation as diverse as ours that doesn't suffer from these types of chronic race wars, so this could be the new normal.
