Surely there's private interest in this? Loooooooot of economic impact, this would wreck tons of supply lines Is the US private sector even cognizant of this? Doing any contingency planning?

this is very simple but little understood - journalists for most part don't do real reporting anymore. at best they have a few go-to ppl on rolodex to feed them 'what's 3 talking points on X'; beyond that, there's little primary-info gathering, lots of press-release recycling...
