There's definitely some large buildings next to a very nice baseball stadium. And then you walk two blocks in a large crowd back to the train station and never go anywhere else. /RIP Arnold Palmer's barber

SF is the only place where I, a 250lb, 6'5" male who's dumb and stupid and careless, ride the subway one stop rather than walk 4 blocks. It's *baaaaaaaaaaaaad*.

Jesus fucking Christ. I don't have the will to churn out the story, nor the emotional fortitude, frankly. But got damn, San Diego did me similarly. I paid the impound in pennies. Went to the bank and took out $400-ish in pennies.

They had to hand truck it out, and it was bottoming out the ass end of my girlfriend's car to have it in the trunk. Then like a Willem Dafoe-eyed madman dared them to refuse payment. They did not.

The number of replies saying "this is your fault for letting your plates expire!!" I can't imagine a less serious infraction than letting your car registration expire for less than a month. On a car that's locked in a garage, no less.

San Francisco hates cars. We should just block the freeway offramps and rip up all the asphalt. That would be the honest thing.

on the one hand, yeah that sucks. on the other, it sounds a lot like this person has never tried to get a car out of impound in a major city before because it's like this every time no matter where you are.
