eigenrobot added,
One time I shot the pics for a new baby announcement and I saw a serving platter on the table and suggested we put the baby on it and they hold knives and forks and stare at the baby and not only did they say yes that's the picture they used for the announcement.
NOOOOOOOOOO
symbols matter, and this is terrible I had a friend who got married and sent out wedding invites with a "fun" font which was fractured / broken letter pieces I almost lost my mind they, of course, got divorced ~ 2 years later I don't assert that symbols are magic >>>
I assert that symbol choice and other choices are influenced by common causes the carefree silliness / lack of serious forethought that lead them to choose a symbolically horrible font led them into other trouble too please please please never put baby on a platter, I beg you
my dad once literally walked out of a wedding that was being treated like an ironic joke for similar reasons
(now, that being said, I also understand that it's a time honored masculine tradition for men to tease their wives by making absurd/horrifying joke suggestions about things related to their unborn infants)
This couple that was friends with my parents, right? She was *extremely* pregnant in June of '68, and it was hot, and this was before everyone had air conditioning, so Mel suggested to Irene that they go see a movie. He took her to see Rosemary's Baby. At 39 weeks.
oh my god there's a joke about this in a bloom county strip "Don't watch Rosemary's baby" (there's an ultrasound) "Have you ever seen 'The Fly'"
