Not even joking bring back earmarks: earmarks meant politicans had an invested intrest in the system working so they could say “hey I got you a train station/highway/medical center”

Literally, the entire political system started to burn once we removed the grease of earmarks. Bipartisan in most cases was really "Republicans supported Democratic bill because Republicans got spending project X in exchange for support for the bill."
