AAVE is racist because it excludes a large diaspora of Black experience. AAVE might undergo a name change soon

Hmm. Haven't actually read any of his books--mostly take him in via lecture. He's sort-of-rightish-but-also-not (?) His talks with Glenn Loury are interesting, I think because he's the less predictable of the two Hmmm actually tangential

McWhorter and Loury have an ongoing series at bloggingheads (Would love any perspective from you on this, Rahmel) Its some of the better content on the internet _for me_ anyway Two Black men, both incredibly sharp, politically unusual (homeless?)

Loury is an extremely good economist and I usually map his arguments to the underlying models and literature he's tacitly referencing and I respect that, I think he's a superior social scientist But once you see his line of thought he's not so surprising

McWhorter is a little bit more--I can't predict what his angle will be on any given subject, and while I think his approach is less structurally rigorous overall he often comes up with framings that are more interesting or insightful
