FWIW I don't think "cargo cult" is right here - the Chinese understand the entire process thoroughly. Arguably the people they're snowing (European regulators) have a cargo-cult approach.

Maybe, the term makes sense to me here: they show off their exotics (ie. self driving luggage) to display their futurism. Throw in some stuff like 'DNA personalisation (wtf?)' and add some 'seamless commerce'. Borrow something from China like that firewall.
