eigenrobot added,
suppose you had a similar tournament, but with one special entrant: the limited omniscience agent (LOA) that knows with certainty what its opponent will play in advance each round (but not the next) and its strategy and plays optimally in response Does LOA outperform TFT?
Maybe! But I can imagine a world where it doesn't really outperform TFT, which would make the TFT wins even cooler.
Hmm. I don't think it would necessarily do that (?) My guess is if LOA = TFT what you see is something like near-identical actions taken over the course of the game. I could be completely wrong about how this shakes out, just playing with the idea :)
Most likely cooperate all the way through, no? Defect last round in the finite case
no such scenario for infinite game with sufficiently low discounting, always in finite game bc final round
I guess it would only take one, huh Should have thought about this for more than 3s LOA outperforms TFT against always-defect
