i was just objecting at the idea of "being liked BEFORE being honest", there are endless paths to being liked and honesty is not an obstacle to most of them

"Skub is good actually" – if anti-skub people don't care about me or hate me, there's little merit in saying it. If anti-skub people like me? Then it's honesty. So Eigen's "be liked before being honest", as I see it, is positive rather than normative.
