further resolution: 1. Reporter reached out to a discord mod for comment 2. Tech reporter rather than culture which seems relatively good 3. Not certain to be a Proper hit piece but my bead is that in this time legibility is indistinguishable from threat

I have gone through media training for PR work at a large firm. The short answer is Don't Fucking Talk To Media They may not be ""smart"""" but they have extensive experience in destroying people. Stories are prewritten and they're just looking for some quotes for flavor.

Organizations like businesses at least have leverage to negotiate the parameters of the interview and can sometimes retaliate against breaches. Private individuals are absolutely powerless
