been thinking about a Diversity training I went to in maybe 2010

anyway it went very badly the speaker was personable. the content was basically "we want you to get along with your coworkers who might be different than you. So, here is what different generations be like" - boomers: work hard. old - gen x: dangerous - millenials: lazy, egoist

what made it particularly troublesome was that a certain empirical microeconomist was at our table and he kept a running list of all of the factually wrong claims about labor patterns made by the speaker which struck the RAs as extremely funny

it got worse though during one of our side conversations we were talking about Europe and someone drew a really bad map of Europe from memory and then another RA drew horns on Spain and added an eyeball and a dopey smile someone decided the bull was named Elmer

and that was it for our table for the remaining half hour of the training we all were blushing and doing our damnedest to look at the floor and not at each other and certainly not at Elmer because we were '' from bursting out in gales of laughter and we didnt want to be fired

anyway I present this story not as an anecdote casting doubt on the usefulness of such Trainings (such are abundant) but rather as a pleasant thing to smile about in the coming weeks as you file into your organizations Lawsuit Prevention Box Checking Cringe Session
