Woh is this something Asians associate with being Asian? is it possible white people have this too but don't associate it with their ethnicity or is this something qualitatively different

I want to coin it "Asian guilt" It's this massive feeling of insecurity because you're never top dog in HS settings

for me it gets tied up with resenting white men and wanting to date white women, in this really unfortunate way

i grew up in the US watching a ton of TV with almost exclusively white characters esp. in romantic situations so i feel like my archetypes for both the sort of person i was supposed to be and the sort of person i was supposed to want were white (among other things)

fascinating to read this conversation from Singapore where for the most part people who look like QC are at the top of the social order (white privilege does also exist but they’re like a rounding error in the bigger picture context)

i met a couple asian dudes from singapore at burning man and it was a revelation. they were strong and embodied and confident and sexy in a way i’ve almost never seen in asian-americans. maybe one asian-american dude i can think of off the top of my head

all the asian chads i’ve seen have serious self-hate issues and hangups about seen with other asians. one wanted to “genocide the weaker asian men so to improve asian male genes” or something. it is possible to do well with women of all races without that baggage (source: me)

I think the "default [in this case, white] people had no idea" is a really nice thing to have, because you don't have to waste your time seeing it! Whereas other people see it constantly because it affects them negatively if they don't.https://twitter.com/krzhang/status/1271712887753502720 …
