literally every person I've dated, male and female, wanted to build a rural compound/villa with all of their friends I am not complaining, it's just funny that I've had to establish a boundary of "not going full Waco" in every single relationship I've had

I've had a pretty similar experience, in both romantic and friendly relationships. It's always struck me as a fantastic idea, by which I mean that it should probably remain in fantasy stories. (Did nobody else have their fill of shitty roommate experiences in early adulthood?)
