I'm dismayed by how things are going right now and I see a lot of bad potential outcomes.
Per @turrible_tao, no one at the national level seems to have any interest in ending this.
Similar with media (mass or social).

Wow. Kudos to these cliches that assume the collapse of status quo only begets regression and destruction. Kudos to the assumption that the modern state (epitomized by USA) is an ahistorical eternal entity - with no origin, purpose and an end. Kudos to these unoriginal "takes"
