one thing that I expect is happening everywhere in areas near riots, and not visible here, is neighbors talking to each other and figuring out who has firearms and what to do if they have to use them

You'd have to ask my better half to check nextdoor to find out for sure. Not sure stockpiling food is productive WRT to rioting (though it's good for pandemic) -- the stockpiles would burn with the rest of the building. I'd especially lay off the tubs of gasoline.

Fwiw most neighborhoods have been taking stock of fire extinguishers rather than firearms, I went to 3 menards stores and 1 home depot looking for em, and they're all sold out.

Thanks to my north suburban dad being able to get to a Menards in Oakdale, a lil anarchist fire department in the Seward neighborhood has like 10 fire extinguishers now.

Don't think any place in my neighborhood sells sand.
It'd be fun hauling that up four flights of stairs though.
