Oh Just realized something Many buildings on college campuses built in the 1970s, apart from being brutalist horrors, were specifically designed to be difficult to occupy by student riots Very unpleasant, narrow twisting halls with counterintuitive pathing

good example here I had these beauties at UMN's East Bank campus in mind https://twitter.com/Cullen_OK/status/1266524789100797953?s=19 …pic.twitter.com/mETiETq2kP

Apart from the twisty hallways, there are heavy doors that I think can be automatically closed and locked

UW's Red Square has a similar (alleged) purpose, more subtle Its current incarnation was built in 1969 Pay no attention to the gorgeous library--focus on the red bricks They're incredibly smooth, and very slippery when wet Student riot? Just wet them down, problem solvedpic.twitter.com/cJ4xbkXssQ

Ever read City of Quartz? The larger political takes are eh, but the architecture stuff is spot-on.

FWIW, my alma mater had some brutalist style buildings that were kinda visually interesting, were built in an intertwined fashion, and had pleasantly large indoors walks. To be honest, I haven't seen the kind of interiors you describe, though I'm no expert on the type.
