K so one thing about dropping the SAT requirements is that presumably anyone who does well on it will submit their scores anyway, right?

probably the more important point is that they might be signaling that they won't be selecting the student body on the basis of expected performance anyway so maybe you could still submit it but their objective has changed

“Maybe” seems way too weak. I assume kids that get remotely decent advice, either from college counselors, the internet, or whatever, will quickly learn the “submit your scores if they are above this score” score and behave accordingly.
