academic fields that want to "solve problems" rather than "build or learn things" are not to be trusted you think theyre idiots? NO. they know what will happen to funding if someon actually solves the problem you think their Peers would clear a paper with a SOLUTION?!!

My iGEM project attempted to introduce a trichloroethylene bioremediation pathway in E. coli. It didn’t work, but learning the politics and history of the EPA superfund site was extraordinarily depressing. Incompetence led to horrible cancer and illness.
