No. Deontology, consequentialism, and virtue ethics are equivalent. Well, equivalent in the sense that Turing Machines and Lambda Calculus are equivalent. You have to pick the one to work on based on what you want, but they can be defined in terms of each other. 1/

Deontology can be defined in terms of consequentialism if your utility function increases by following the rules. Consequentialism can be defined in terms of virtue ethics if the value you are maximizing is the weighted average of everyone's happiness (or insert value here). 2/
