i thought about him a bit in AP European History when I was fifteen but otherwise really haven't much attended to the Reformation and listening to a narration of it now in my mid 30s is pretty interesting

Same here. Most of my town was of germanic or english descent and either Cathoic or Lutheran. Luther came up during European history classes along with the "sorta kinda right" explanation of him being mad about Indulgences. Other than that, I've never cared to think about him.

Amusingly I was this but Lutheran, which practically means "I imbibed a vaguely negative view of Catholicism" rather then "this is why they disagreed with Luther". Probably also helps explain how I ended up becoming Orthodox.
