Here's my view on "It's Time to Build". A major obstacle to progress is rent-seeking journalists who trivialise useful innovations for solving "fake problems" and slow down technological progress by using "ethical concerns" to get themselves a piece of the pie (status and money).

Sam’s take is obviously correct, but i still can’t believe andreessen thinks Tesla’s alien dreadnaught was real, lmfao. He’s so far removed from any understanding for manufacturing and the processes required to built it, he wouldn’t even recognize it if he stood in front of it.

You still haven’t told me how you got into such close contact with that phosphor 😬 Re topic: I mean, it’s pretty crystal clear. Tesla’s one of the most predictable manufacturing fuck ups in history, almost exactly mirroring the 80s GM fiasco. And now they build cars from hand

I just don't know enough to have an opinion I expect your right :) I used to be a radiation courier and there was one bio protocol that just required a Lot of radiation

😬😬😬 Radiation courier is one cool ass job, not gonna lie. Were the runs insured or were the radioisotopes not that expensive after all?

I made $9/hour 🙃 I think the radiation was pretty cheap, to be clear it was in a sealed container and didn't spill anywhere Just a little unnerving to think about in the context of viral labs

I fear that kinda issue plagues every workplace. That reminds me of a friend who often laments that some students don’t seem to handle deadly &or expensive chemicals with the necessary carefulness. Tbf, he himself jokes about the time he accidentally flushed down a solution
