my parents and I went on a walk in the park once dad had his work gloves with him for mysterious reasons we encountered a rattlesnake mom hurried me down the path dad stayed behind (had boots, thick work pants) to prod at the rattlesnake with a stick Idk why he did this

the spiders were the worst creatures big ugly hobo spiders an occasional recluse wolf spiders these little yellow boys with a nasty bite black widows dad caught me a black widow once for educational reasons -- wanted me to know what they looked like and avoid them

He specifically said "hey would you touch this for a second" and as I reached for it he grabbed my wrist to stop me and said "robot what were you thinking? that was a capacitor! . . . I just SAVED YOUR LIFE!!" mom didnt think it was as funny as we did
