I'm curious--if you're in your 40s or older and willing to share on any of these: Roughly (opsec) how old are you now? What do you wish you had done differently in your mid 30s? What do you wish you had known then? What's been the biggest change in your life or outlook since?

Mid-40s, all the stuff I wish I’d done differently was well before my mid-30s. I’ve had a bunch of good luck and good opportunities, but I wish I’d done the original plan and gone the army doctor route. Most of my other advice is for better times.

More career flexibility in medicine, having the education paid for, and as Samuel Johnson said, “Every man thinks meanly of himself for not having been a soldier.” (I’ve worked downrange as a civilian consultant, but that’s different.)

Oh I'm completely uninformed on this topic it just seems like a cool idea based on five seconds thought and taking a first aid course from a Navy medic at a boy scout summer camp
