is there any real justification for the continued existence of the UN from a US perspective? I can imagine some rationales but they feel weak relative to some alternative structures (unsure whether these latter are feasible)

A huge health organization that's actively locked out of much of the world will probably suck in a different way, not sure if it's less suck overall

Best case study is probably AIIB that China created to sell OBOR. Jury on that is still out I guess?? Tbh I think the only thing quitting WHO will accomplish is allowing China to completely fund it. Oh no Washington you mean I, Beijing, have to assume responsibility now? Oh no.

Hmmm. I'm not sure how I feel about competing and insular organizations in spaces as important as global health. We've seen it somewhat on a small scale with China in recent events. Not sure how to square the circle with respect to the economy and economic clubs

honestly it probably wouldn't work well. but it would suck less than WHO (almost impossible not to), plus it would make a bunch of evil people lose face.

The WHO is useless if you don’t have China as a member and compliance from the CCP.
