Inertia gently leads us (certainly me, at least) toward (a). OTOH (b) has a very small price, so why not.

heh ""important""""
I've been thinking about this and I'm not sure yet.
There's always the option of starting a slack or similar but this may be not quite the right move.
Will continue mulling though.1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -

Discord is a better option for many reasons, not the least of which is better moderation tools.

There's Urbit, obviously, but I'm not yet sure it's worth the effort. There are other community sites I'm looking at. Someone could host a password protected IRC server. There's Toxx.

Yeah, less concerned with which of those is the best than what the best option actually is I really value the openness of Twitter and I'm not sure how to replicate it. :(

Yeah! That's the thing: twitter is very open and visible to outside people Of the things mentioned so far, I think mastodon comes the closest in this regard

I enjoy following this cluster and found Mastodon impenetrable when I tried to use it, fwiw. If you're aiming to maintain some openness to outsiders providing guidance as to how to use it for the less tech-savvy may be a consideration.

I might create something as a fallback so if we all get kicked off we can at least get in touch and regroup somewhere else, maybe. I'll dig into this next weekend and poast.
