no idea I wasn't with the company then I wasn't super worried about ebola tbh, extremely bad if you get it but much lower transmissibility in most circumstances

huuuuuh interesting I guess for me seeing it play out as it did in Wuhan was the trigger If you're getting that kind of transmissibility and that kind of response from the CCP--maybe it's nothing but the cost/benefit analysis for preparing seems blindingly obvious

The Ebola comparisons strike me as ridiculous since high school biology should give you enough background to understand why Ebola is fundamentally different from an airborne disease.

Operational infrastructure was still intact with the departments under HHS. Planning & Strategy infrastructure was what got cut in DHS (big deal) & NSC (I'm skeptical of the impact of this one). On Ops side CDC dropped the ball & FDA worked exactly the way we designed it to.
