They're the backbone of our society. What is the Western World if not one big cruise ship? And if the cruise ships sink (figuratively, financially) then our whole financial system also sinks (also figuratively). Without cruise ships we have nothing to dream for.

cruise ships are a very relaxing hotel with a nice view where you will always get fairly nice food, and also most days you get to visit a new place and do some low effort sightseeing without having to actually deal with all the hassles of travel

I am generally anti-vacation because vacations are a lot of work and I'd rather do not work during my not work time, but a cruise comes closest to making a vacation be not work

I like cruise ships--not actually going on cruises but the idea of them--because they've developed the genius business model of getting around 3rd world guest worker visa limits by making the all inclusive resort float around on the water
