I keep thinking how this feeling, of an invisible, unknown killer stalking our streets and gathering places, is one almost every human has experienced throughout history, we're unusual only in the scope and rarity of the epidemics.

I don’t think I really internalized until the last few weeks that the horsemen aren’t individuals - they come as a unit, because the disruption and instability caused by any one leads very easily to the others.
