SO I had a nervous breakdown as a teenager, and one of the things that would happen is I would get really intense intrusive thoughts, often about large scale destruction. i had compulsions that had to do with preventing buildings from falling down, etc

when I was 16 I started saying "I love you" to everyone all the time, because I wanted that to be the last thing said between us in case they were killed by nuclear warfare I'm not entirely sure why that was such a big focus of my anxiety- maybe externalizing my emotional state?

anyway I ended up in this cycle of: whenever i got anxious, i would have apocalyptic thoughts, and i started to associate the apocalypse with anxiety never got so bad that if I read the word apocalypse I would panic, but if I thought too hard about it i totally would
