AAHhh this borders on nihilism! I understand "trust no one": don't turn off thinking. But there are limits on how much one person can figure out alone. And many people don't have even relatively basic knowledge related to the present crisis (the diff betw. viruses and bacteria?)

oh sure I just think in this specific case data are just brutally corrupt and misinformation is coming from all sides :( "dont wear a respirator!!" etc

I think the WHO report from China is trustworthy. Nothing I have seen from anywhere else seems to meaningfully contradict it.

Yeah, it’s pretty fair to link that. I mean this document https://www.who.int/docs/default-source/coronaviruse/who-china-joint-mission-on-covid-19-final-report.pdf … (One thing I don’t buy on priors is that kids aren’t vectors. Which the report doesn’t confidently claim, but it says they didn’t remember instances of it.)

I don't have problems (or even opinions really!) about the conclusions generated in the report conditional on the data being correct; I think my objection is more on the grounds of likely data integrity issues.
