Saying this bc that’s my overall impression of how the 4 endemic coronaviruses work and I have yet to see anything to convincing me this will be super different. (Though I can point to some small n studies that suggest it’s more complicated than that.)

Can someone walk me through what this paper is saying? I think it’s saying that it’s likely to be less bad as it accumulates mutations and it’s doing so faster than some people thought, but it’s a little over my head technically.

Some doctor on a podcast (Nikolas Christakis, maybe?) said this week that, when it comes to vaccines, coronaviruses are less like the flu (annual, less effective) and more like tetanus (long lasting, couple boosters and you’re good).
-
Good to hear! Which coronaviruses do we have vaccines for, if you know? Or was this speculative based on type of virus?
